Princess market their ships as 5 star cruising. The reality is totally different. We were so disappointed with this Caribbean cruise. My husband and I are in our 50s and were bored to death. This has never happened before in over 15 cruises. We were on the Sapphire last year and really enjoyed it but not this one. Food is terrible. We are British and like hot food. The buffet was cold at breakfast lunch and dinner, not even lukewarm. Selection of food is poor, same stuff every day. We tried the Soleil anytime restaurant twice and found it just as bad, like school dinners. Hardly any fish. Mac and cheese every day plus you had to ring at 8am to book a table even though it was supposed to be anytime dining. We were on the Indy in Sept and the food was fantastic, miles better than the Sky. We are not going with Princess ever again despite being shareholders. Cunard and Royal Caribbean are far better.

Entertainment is even worse, we were on the 2 week cruise and Princess don't tell you these are treated as 2 separate cruises so you get the same shows again. Only 3 production shows, all awful, one totally incomprehensible and one ridiculous one with puppets. 2 comedians and 2 magicians. You had to get to the theatre 45 mins before the shows to get a seat as other public venues were hired out to private parties. Never experienced this before on other ships. Lots of stupid gameshows and quizzes all aimed at Americans. Hardly any Brits on board, 90 per cent are American. We sat in our cabin reading most of the time as there was nothing to do. Complete waste of money.

Sailing down from Miami there were huge waves and very rough seas for over 2 days, ship really rocked around, creaking and groaning all night, swimming pool water splashing up really high, I couldn't sleep. Lots of people being sick, but no extra entertainment laid on. Cruise director only hosted the gameshows and was never seen around the ship, loved the sound of his own voice. Some staff friendly, but many others didn't seem happy in their work. Guest services in particular do not want to help the people who pay their wages.
