My paternal great grandparents were born in Bergen, Norway and I've always wanted to visit their homeland. I have Swedish ancestry as well. We've done 3 river cruises with Viking and had wonderful experiences. So we were happy to see them expand into ocean cruising with the perfect sized and wonderfully designed ship. We extended our stay in Stockholm and Bergen which we enjoyed tremendously and would recommend that option, both or one! The hotel accommodations were very good and conveniently located. The Viking staff at the hotels were knowledgeable and helpful. Our experience on this cruise was awesome in every aspect. The staff in every area was friendly, experienced, helpful and professional. We especially loved Stockholm, Tallinn, Copenhagen and Bergen. All the ports of call were interesting. We could have spent less time in St. Petersburg with another day in most any other port. The shore excursions were well organized, interesting and informative. Viking definitely knows what they are doing. We appreciate the inclusiveness of their cruise package. You know what you are getting and are not nickel and dimed for this and that. We hope to travel with Viking again and will definitely recommend Viking to our friends!
