This was our first river cruise and it did not disappoint. It was for the 75th anniversary of D-day. Our cruise experience was excellent throughout the entire itinerary. From our first meeting when we were transferred to our ship until the trip back at the end, we were impressed with the high level of service.

Viking hits the mark with everything they do. The Viking Rolf was well appointed with a comfortable feel and easy vibe. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable. The food and food service excellent as well. The chef explained everything he was presenting with locally provisioned fare. The mostly Eastern European staff was extremely attentive and learned our preferences quickly and ensured our happiness and needs were met. All the shore excursions were well planned and extremely informative. Everything went off like clockwork. Guides were well prepared and entertaining. I can not think of anything that detracted from the experience. Overall: five stars
