Working with Viking in planning our cruise was flawless as well as working with them on excursions, taxis and requests on board. Our cabin was small (no balcony) but we really didn't spend a lot of time in our room. It is extremely well laid out. Embarkation and disembarkation was easier than checking in and out of a hotel. Everyone on board is friendly, welcoming and know you by name right away. The ship is stylish clean and well laid out. Dining was good but I was expecting it to be a little more gourmet or at least have those options. We spent a lot of time around the bar since the weather was horrible and we couldn't enjoy the outside of the boat which I'm sure would have been fun. Bar tenders were fabulous and would remember what you liked to drink but were willing to make you anything you wanted. We meet some wonderful people in those hours of sitting around the bar. Entertainment consisted mainly of piano players or guitar players but they were very talented and enjoyable. We enjoyed the shore excursions (even in the rain). We did have a couple of excursions that we made on our own and not apart of the boat.

I would take another river cruise and although you cannot control the weather I would take it during warmer times of the year.
