So 7 day cruise, that some friends and I yearly go on, we hop around on which line we cruise on. This time was Norwegian. The pluses, unlimited drink package, a bit higher class, and good destinations. Now onto the positives of the cruise. Food was really good all around, rooms were nice and our steward was great. The ice bar was cool too, as well as the ropes course. The casino was fun and had enough elbow room here, so fi you are a gambler this would be a cruise for you. Negatives- Most of the bar staff was pretty rude, they seemed understaffed and over worked. I would say about 70% were in this boat. Everything is a dang reservation, have to reserve eat at some restaurants, get into shows, everything. It really goes against a vacation of just wandering, it is like work, have to plan all ahead of time, be on time, very little flexibility. The common areas for things like the piano bar, comedy show, etc, are entirely too small for a ship of this size, there is never enough room for the crowds, and for most if you didn't make a reservation, no walk ups. Unlike many other ships that have large entertainment areas, this ship does not have those, other than the main stage. This ship was built for about 1500 passengers too many. Also the casino stinks, they need to ozone the area after each sailing, the cigarette stink poisons most of the mid ship, you can really smell it. Also had to interact with the front desk looking for a friends left behind hat, the folks there seemed bothered to have to go look in the lost and found. A big thing too, the adult area to relax does not have a stinking pool, just some water sit down areas and two hot tubs. Now this is a fault that I didn't research this, but most ships of this size have an adult pool area with a pool, such a letdown. Oh and another dumb thing, when coming back from a shore day, none of the restaurants are open except the buffet. Open the dang restaurants, people wanna eat, even the paid ones, make some money on walk ups. This ship just seems to be not managed well for the amount of passengers, and the staff may have been at sea too long. There were many other things that were death by a thousand cuts, and Norwegian will likely never be a line I sail on again, I'll stick with RC or on a budget Carnival. And the price paid on this cruise did not equate to the experience. TLdr; (at the end) Staff was not pleasant, ship has too many people on it for the amenities, adult pool rec area was weak, food was good. Would rather have sailed on RC.

The destinations were great, the cruise overall was a let down.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BB
Cabin was nice, balcony a bit small, but functional. Our room steward was fantastic, she really went above and beyond to keep the room tidy.
