We chose Norwegian Encore for two reasons: we wanted an Eastern Caribbean itinerary and had to book last minute. The quality of the food and entertainment were great. Probably some of the best food we have had on a cruise anywhere. However, we found several major issues that will keep us from ever booking with Encore again. First and foremost, the pool area is so cramped and small that even walking through it to get to the cafeteria is challenging. My wife and I were looking forward to laying by the pool and catching up with a few good books. However, that never materialized. The children’s pool and play area was even worse. We tried once taking our three year old to play, however the small and cramped space was so packed that we turned around and left. And even more puzzling is the insistence of Norwegian to blast dance (mostly rap music) very early morning throughout the pool deck and cafeteria. So, Having a relaxing breakfast was definitely out Of the question. The only quiet place on the ship is the Observation Lounge which was also very busy with limited seating. This experience may be unique to us but we felt it was worth sharing.
