Sail Date: Dec 2019

A new experience for us to see ancient sites in Greece and Turkey and to again explore Pompeii with family. A new ship put into service in May 2015, Viking Star is state of the art cruising limited to 930 over 18 age passengers. This is our second Viking Christmas week ocean cruise in the Med with grand daughters. Everything was fabulous- the weather, cabin, dining, activities, and shore excursions! A day and a half at sea was a bit much and we would have liked to have stopped in Sicily which was on the original route when booked. Christmas dinner was very special with lobster and beef Wellington. The spa has many amenities including a unique snow grotto. The salute to ABBA show was very lively and everyone was in a festive mood. We stayed an extra two days in Rome to explore the Vatican and ancient sites with great Italian food. We would definitely go again.
