Food was recycled several times to the point that it got spoiled. I ate gummy shrimp first night at seafood buffet and got food poisoning and severe stomach cramps. Before ten day cruise was over got food poisoning three times. Most of cruise stayed within 50 yards of a bathroom. Most shore excursions were impossible to take as gastric problems existed. Every night at sea was very rougn but not Vikings fault. Service was mediocre which was surprising for the elite cruise line that Viking is supposed to be. This was second time on Viking and it will definitely be the last. Some waiters in dining room at night did not seem to care and service was marginal. When told that food was not good they just shrugged. Some staff and crew were super but a few bad ones spoiled the experience. Entertainment was marginal at best. One act was cruise director and another act was assistant cruise director. Everyone seemed to have several jobs. For the entire cruise it seemed that Viking was trying to cut expenses, most noticable in the food. Best entertainment was Lincoln Center String group. This cruise was definitely not up to Viking standards. Out of 65 cruises taken since 1070 this was the very worst!
