We wanted to experience six uninterrupted days at sea to unwind and enjoy the food, the lectures, and the ambiance aboard ship. Viking didn't fail us - it was the best experience we've ever had cruising. We particularly enjoyed the fascinating lecturers with topics ranging from World War II Atlantic submarine warfare, to Antarctic explorers, to world-class ocean rowing; first-run movies each evening, daily trivial pursuit competitions, a scrumptious afternoon tea, and soothing classical music performances in the Atrium in the evening. The Viking Star is a beautiful ship with dozens of places to curl up with a good book, often with a woolen throw nearby. There are numerous locations aboard to "rehydrate" throughout the day - from a glass of sparkling water, to a cup of coffee or tea, to a soft drink, to a beer or alcohol. We were able to start each morning with a 2-mile walk around the deck or in the Fitness Center if the weather forced us below deck. Overall, there was a delightfully-relaxed atmosphere aboard ship with a superb staff that met our every need.

Cabin Review

Immaculately clean, wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of closet and drawer space. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom, and room enough for both of us to maneuver at the same time. Terrific shower with adjustable height showerhead - wonderful for short women. We had the best cabin attendants aboard ship.
