We chose this cruise because we had such a good experience on a Budapest to Amsterdam Viking river cruise. The ship was both comfortable and elegant. The lounges, restaurants, and other public areas were spacious and comfortable. The buffet served excellent food. We loved the custom omelets and the daily smoothie. We never had trouble finding a comfortable table. The poolside specialty buffets were excellent, especially the seafood buffet. The restaurants were elegant and it was nice to have specialty restaurants at no additional charge. The entertainers were friendly and often visited with passengers in the restaurants and lounges. We could always find a quiet place to read or relax and it never felt crowded. We loved the observatory, the entertainment, and the food. Our room was excellent. It was comfortable, well maintained, and the balcony had comfortable furniture. The ship size allowed us to sail within a mile of Hubbard Glacier. We chose to only do the included excursions which were well planned and hit highlights of each location, and we had a wonderful time. The port of calls were very interesting. Viking was very easy to work with on airfare to spend extra time in Alaska on our own. The crew were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the ocean cruise so much that we booked our next one while onboard.
Beautiful, historic town. We enjoyed being able to explore at our own pace.
We enjoyed the show and seeing the village, then explored on our own.
We took the included tour that visited the fish hatchery where we saw many eagles, then visited the Mendenhall Glacier.
We took a bus tour that took us up White Pass.
The sea life center is amazing.
We stayed here two nights and also did a sea life cruise and Keanu Fjords National Park.
Totem pole park was great.
