Itinerary was perfect for us with concentration on Japanese ports. We wanted to sail with Viking since we only have booked with Oceania. Service is outstanding with Viking.
As for restaurants, the Chef’s Table specialty is fantastic. Wine pairings are very well done.
Manfredi’s is way off track attempting to represent Italian cuisine. The food is just not good regardless of whatever version they are attempting to serve.
The main restaurant is solid, we always had a good meal.
Quality of paid excursions is top notch. Viking is using 5 star local tour guides.
Enrichment seminars are great.
One of the most exciting features on this ship is the Planetarium theater in the Explorer’s Lounge. Only 26 seats, so book early.
The Spa area with the ice room, sauna & pool is outstanding. An extremely serene experience.
While Viking could not compare to the culinary experiences on Oceania, we personally preferred Viking overall.
Cabin is well appointed, with bright airy decor. Smaller than Oceania A1 category, but Orion bathroom is better use of space without bathtub.
