Sky Princess Jan 11, 2020 cruise. Awesome and a beautiful ship. Pastels, tans, blues, green. Low maintenance construction. Chrome, stainless, anodized aluminum, PVC over the outside railings. Rubber gaskets for the windows, not calking, brass, wood of different varieties. All beautifully executed. Music just about everywhere, all the bingo and trivia you can handle. More than any other ship we were ever on. Casino has multitudes of new slots. We donated. Bingo was hosted by “Fortuna Luck” That is what she called herself. An excellent bingo host. Lots of fun. Rafel Urdaneta worked in the Casino and gave out the bingo cards and the pads. Could never do enough for everyone. Always helpful and a smile. The best deal was $69.00. You get the pad with 36 cards on it, a triple card for four games and a $5.00 scratch off. Last game, last day of the cruise cover all gave away over $2,700.00 won by 3 people. Over $900.00 each. Not us. 7 bingo sessions, not every day. Some twice a day. Trivia was done in a way all ships should do it. Deck 7 Live with a large screen. In large letters. Gives the Question and number. So even if the host has a heavy accent, you can easily read it. Every day was enjoyable. Slice pizza we did not care for. However Alfredo’s pizza and service was excellent. Our server Nipan Kalita was on the ball and always a smile. The steak house was no good and no service either. Terrible! First to be seated at 5:00PM. Decided no appetizer. Wanted to get to the 6:30PM show. Ordered the Filet Minion. 40 min. later it showed up. Steak and the mashed potatoes were warm and did not bring my asparagus. The waiter never returned to our table. Finally got the desert and left. 6:40PM. Never made it to the show. No excuse for that. By the way. The filet was on tough side, no flavor either. They need to learn from Alfredo’s. Carnival still has the very best at sea steak house. We no longer do the MDR. Only the buffet and the specialty restaurants. The buffet is super big. No lines and never a problem finding a table. Utensils are wrapped up in the napkin and on the tables. In the evening, it is like a restaurant. Place mats and stemmed glasses for water. Anyone will get your drink for you, even the bar. Kept the tables cleaned. The food itself could be hotter. However the variety was excellent. Quality was also excellent and the deserts were unbelievable. Not just cake. Comedian was very good, magician was excellent. Rock Opera was excellent. Had no real problems at all with the elevators. Just those that enjoy packing themselves in one that is already full. Our balcony state room E429 was very nice but, very small. Including the super small bath room. Shower was fine. Cruised on 30+ different ships. This was the smallest by far. Beds were very comfortable and our room steward Thomas from India, was up and above. The best we ever had. So all in all, a very enjoyable cruise with really no down side. Our first evening we had super rough seas and the coat hangers kept banging the open closet walls. You can see what I did to stop it in the picture. Put a towel over the hangers. The medallion worked fine. However the daily things to do before you take the cruise is not the same. It changes. So do not do what I did. Figure out what you want to do each day in advance. A waste of time. Do we recommend the Sky Princess.? We sure do.
Not really Obstructed view. Only if you need to look down on the next deck. Very small room. Very small bathroom. Comfortable beds. Go ahead and laugh. I got real nervous when I could not find the toilet tissue. See if you can find it in the picture.
Nice and clean port. Lots and lots of business for diamonds and jewelry.
Since we were here last time they added buildings and it really looks beautiful and lots of businesses to shop at.
