We will only sail with Viking. The longer the cruise the more opportunities for things to happen beyond anyone's control. We had a couple of those happen (missed port to due weather) but Viking is well prepared to adjust and compensate for those changes. The consistent effort by all Viking employees to make the passengers feel appreciated and important was evident here.
We love the specialty restaurants. Manfredis' is a sure thing for great food; the Chef's table is always an adventure. Dining there introduced me to food I never would have tried or for that matter, encountered, and probably never will again, but we were SO glad we had the opportunity...delicious and amazing!. The poolside grill does a great hamburger and the gelato at the World Cafe is the most popular place on the ship.
We are not an especially social pair and we find we can join any number of activities when we desire, yet have all the privacy we want.(without spending all day in the cabin)
It was like stepping into our home. We have been on three different ships and each stateroom is identical. The familiarity makes for an easy transition. We know what suitcases will fit where...how the bathroom is laid out. Viking has gone a long way to make their guests feel at home and one way is in the excellent design, decor and functionality of the cabin. 5 stars!
