We were interested in seeing the British Isles and the Viking itinerary fit the bill perfectly. We have cruised with Viking before so knew of all the inclusive amenities available to us on the ship. The room we had was mid-ship and was a DV4 category. It suited our needs perfectly for showering and sleeping and some balcony viewing. We typically spent time in the Explorers Lounge, which has a fabulous ambiance and spectacular views. The common areas on the Jupiter we're not crowded, quiet and comfortable with many books available. The ship's main Restaurant and World Cafe had excellent food and the specialty restaurants were outstanding. This was our 2nd ocean cruise with Viking and we just hooked our 3rd. We love the free shore excursions that are offered but do go on many additional ones.
On this cruise, I missed a step in the Torshavn and broke my ankle so got to visit the medical facilities. Absolutely superb! The medical staff took x-rays and cast my ankle, helped us get a wheelchair and arranged for us to go to the Edinburgh ER where I got a walking boot and was able spot not have to fly home! The doctor and nurse were most attentive and so helpful; cannot thank them enough. Pretty much the entire Viking staff is top notch as well.
Viking pays serious attention to every detail, which makes you feel at home. Many thanks to Torsten and Katrina for producing such high quality! Now, if I can just get that success cake recipe from Mamsens, life would be perfect (hint hint)
Fit our needs perfectly
