We chose this cruise because we had been on a Viking River Cruise the previous year and really enjoyed it. Viking had the best ratings. Almost everything about the trip was wonderful. The ship was beautiful, staff was super friendly and helpful. The stateroom was exceptionally comfortable and well designed so that there was plenty of closet and drawer space. The ship was also very clean and well maintained. The food at all the restaurants was also excellent. With the Chef's Table being the best. Even the buffet restaurant was the best we tasted anywhere, compared to other ships on which we have sailed. What was lacking was good entertainment. The cruise director, Brensley, did one excellent show. She had a beautiful voice. There were four other singers who did shows, and they were very amateurish. The resident historian was very knowledgeable, informative and interesting. The tours were interesting also, but we would have liked a little more time on our own in each port. All in all, it was a very enjoyable trip.
The cabin was super clean and very comfortable. It was very well designed. The only criticism was that the shower pan was too shallow and had a tendency to overflow if you weren't careful. I think that the drain was too small, and because it was located in the corner of the shower instead of the middle, the water didn't drain fast enough.
We enjoyed seeing Winchester Cathedral. Once again, the guide was very good.
