  3. Celebrity Summit
We selected the Summit because of the literary, even though we knew it was an older ship with limited venues. While we knew that the restaurant choices were also limited, the reviews online suggested that the food and the wine was good. We were impressed how clean and modern the ship was, and the crew was amazing!!! However, things went south when when we went to the wine bar and found that some of the better choices were not available - they did not make the boat. The other wines were overpriced and not very good. While my wife and I were happy to pay for better wine beyond our drink package (we had the top tier), again they had nothing available at the main wine bar (Cellars). However, the Elegance Red, served in the main dining room, ended up being decent (not great) and the wine bar began carrying it to meet our request. We note that some of the other bars had inventory issues (many running out of common basic brands such as Captain Morgan Spiced Rum), so that is an area they need work in.. The main dining room was a mixed bag - the fish was overcooked and the seared duck was not - there was a good 1/4" of fat under the skin that proper cooking would have melted off, making the skin crispy. That said, it was tasty. The french onion soup did not contain any onions. But there were other dishes that were good. The buffet was another matter - everything was dying in the pan and far far too salty. Finally, the upgraded dining was good, but if you are paying between $70 and $110 extra per couple per meal (before mandatory tip and excluding wine), this is NOT a good deal. Other cruise lines have far better food in the main dining rooms or other free options, and the upgraded dining is far more reasonably priced. One final item - the dress code is outdated. For the main dining room, you will need to dress in business casual or higher. Even though you are... on.... vacation. Reasonable rules are fine (no bathing suits, etc), but this was too far for us. Finally, the entertainment was mixed. The dancers were great, the singers were mixed, and the comedian.... well.... he really needs therapy for his anger issues with his wife. Four sets of the same sort of ranting was not fun to sit through.

Crew was great, ship was clean, food and especially wine far below par

Cabin Review

Ocean View 4
Cabin 04
Cabin was well thought out, with lots of storage and modern. Service was very good. However, we had repeated issues with the sink stopper. Overall, the cabin was good.
