We picked this cruise mainly because we wanted to give MSC a try and the pictures of this new cruise looked really cool. Also, we were excited to take our 9-year-old son to Ocean Cay which is a new private island that MSC owns. Our cabin was on the smaller size but clean and cozy. Ship looked cool as expected, room service and servers were really good. (These reasons prevented me from giving a "terrible review"). Unfortunately, the positives stop there. Food wasn't very good and had the exact same menu all 7 days that we were there. Excursions were not organized properly, and we spent hours, lining up to get out and get into the ship, waiting for buses to pick us up, and getting stuck in traffic in buses. Playa Mia in Cozumel was particularly bad (avoid at all cost). Sea activities were cancelled due high winds at Playa Mia, so my opinion on Playa Mia is based on food, drinks and other activities. We did the Jamaica excursion our self (did not book through the cruise) and that was the only one that went smoothly without any time waste. Inside the cruise, there is not much to do other that dance classes, and Broadway shows. The kids club was terrible and was feeling sorry for our son who was bored most of the time. Pools were super crowded most of the time and bar service was extremely slow in peak hours. To add to the misery, they cancelled the Ocean Cay stop due to "high winds." We found that hard to believe because there was barely a breeze at the time of the announcement. We later found out that their new private island had a lot of other issues and they have been canceling the stop more often than not (if the cancellation is weather related, they do not require to give a refund). So, if you Bahamas is one place that you look forward to going to, this cruise line definitely should not be your first choice. To summarize, the ship was new and looked cool and our cabin was good. But if that was what we wanted, we would have booked a fancy hotel. Cruise experience was poor!
