My girlfriend and I selected Celebrity after looking at several of the reviews on Celebrity Cruise Line. Overall, we had a positive experience, but had to re-assess our expectations early in our cruise. E is 30, I am 43. Both of us had been on several cruises prior to this voyage and were looking forward to more of an upscale cruising experience. After looking through several websites and talking with Celebrity personnel online, we felt the Solstice would offer less of a complete "party" atmosphere, with higher end food, service and room accommodations. Through our research we selected a travel agency that offered us onboard ship credit and gratuities included in our package

BOARDING: Boarding the ship was a very easy process with friendly staff. Dropping off bags took less than 5 minutes and there were no lines to check in. Celebrity's website and 1-800# staff really do assist you in pre-boarding to make the "onboarding" experience, simple. The cruise line does not "push" with the obligatory onboard photo and we were on the ship within minutes.

SHIP DESIGN: The ship is very nice and easy to get around. Neither too big nor too small. The dining room is quite nice with a modern, European feel. The Oceanview Cafe is more of a "cafeteria" experience, providing a great alternative for days when you are in port. Bars are plenty and the Casino is not the center focus of a deck.
