Christmas is a difficult time with having step-families, and families unable to get together on Christmas Day, so we decided this year to do something different. We're in our autumnal years and don't do the Christmas hype, so it was brilliant to find a cruise that had us sailing away over that time - no stress! We love this idea so much we have booked another one, with Princess Cruises, for next Christmas / New Year. We are heading to New Zealand.

Another thing we loved about this cruise was that it was out of Perth and we didn't have to fly anywhere; not that we mind, as a cruise is always worth it. As a writer, I find there were so many places on board to write. And looking at the beautiful ocean is very cathartic. Who wouldn't be inspired to write their next novel? The dining rooms were excellent, and the general eating area was good too. Food was in plentiful supply, so I'm thankful for elasticated waists and loose clothing! And for not having to shop, prepare and cook for over two weeks ... and at Christmas. LUXURY! The staff were incredibly friendly, yet professional, in everything they did. I also noted many acts of kindness to the very senior people on the cruise, of which there were quite a few. They were a great bunch, reliving their teenage years I think! There was a real mixture of passengers; quite a few families, and extended families as well. The Christmas spirit was alive, and the ship was decorated beautifully. Do yourselves a favour and book a cruise. You'll love it.

Cabin Review

Interior

Although smallish, it was well appointed and had plenty of cupboard space. And we were really only in there to shower and sleep. The bed and pillows were incredible - so soft yet supportive. Add in the gentle rocking of the ship and a great sleep was had every night. The bed was amply big enough for both of us. And that's why we've booked two more cruises with Princess in the next year. And the best thing, it is cleaned every day; the bed is made, fresh towels and a chocolate each night on your pillow. That's perfection!
