After our 5th cruise with Celebrity we unfortunately have to seek another cruise line as Celebrity is not anymore what it was…. Here is what we noticed on this particular cruise 1- Although they refurbish their ships it is only a spruising up not a proper refurbishment, modernization and upgrading of their ships. 2- Toilets regularly get blocked. That happened on other cruises too. 3- The whole cruise (14 days) one elevator was out of order and the other elevators are not synchronized they all go up and down at the same time. Long waiting time… 4- The staff didn’t look very happy and therefore where a bit unfriendly at times. 5- The quality of the food is not what it was previously on other ships. From cruise to cruise we noticed the difference 6- Qsine which use to be a great Asian Fusion speciality restaurant has disappeared and replaced with a gimmick “Le Petit Chef” with a boring so-called French Menu of mediocre quality. 7- The entertainment is unexciting with 2nd rated performers. Was definitely better in the Southern Hemisphere cruises… 8- It is very annoying to discover that your pricing and discounting sold in different countries at different prices. Some heavily discounted. The result is seen in the quality of your passengers. 9- The concept of having a band playing on the 3rd floor with an open Atrium going up through the Ship is rather silly as on some of the floors The Reading room, The Game Room, The Library, etc… are located. All those places are designed to relax in peace and not to have blaring rock music coming from the Band. 10- It is a strange system that for the Select Dinning when you want to book a table for a 19:30 dinner you are told that they cannot accept bookings and it is on serve come serve basis… The same goes for the Specialities Restaurants that want you to come at 18:30 or 20:30 but when we checked they had empty tables in between those times… strange!? Having said that one of the Managers in Murano was actually rude when we tried to make a reservation. 11- Strangely enough this ship, in certain areas, suffers of vibrations when underway. Our cabin located on the 9th floor mid-ship, Ocean View Café and a few other spots. The Tuscan Restaurant which is very nice with great views is noisy due to the engine and generator noise. In a modern ship with today’s technology this is unacceptable. It is a shame that so many things were wrong with this Cruise as the itinerary is probably one of the best we had although incorporating a stop in Helsinki or Amsterdam would have been just perfect. I reckon the marketing and planning team of Celebrity got it a bit wrong when trying to build in extra sea days to keep passengers onboard and spend money on the ship instead of giving them more ports to visit something most of the people I talked to would have liked.

No more Celebrity!!!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda
Cabin 1A
Our cabin was the same as other Celebrity ships I would rated as acceptable. Our cabin attendant was great and very considerate. He was probably the only positive thing on the cruise beside the itinerary. The bathroom and toilet flushing system are a disgrace with repeatedly blocked toilets.... Disgusting!
Panorama Deck Inside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
