We chose this cruise because we cruise Princess often, are Elite and wanted a New Years Eve Cruise. The ship is mostly a Clone of Regal Princess and Royal Princess just different color decor and a few minor other changes. Embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth and quick in Ft. Lauderdale. There is some construction around Terminal 2 which was a tad bit confusing. The ship is beautiful and I thought it was well done. One big difference was there is no library on board. My husband likes to get a book from the passengers left overs where they leave books for new passengers and missed not having it. A friend of ours always waits to get on board to get a book and she was also disappointed. All the food in every venue was excellent. Presentation was great, temperature of food was perfect, quality and quantity were also perfect. Some new desserts in the main dining room. We always eat at least one night in the crown grill and it did not disappoint. For frequent cruisers princess has changed the desserts in the crown grill and it was nice to get something different. We got very lucky that the band STATIC was on this cruise. We have sailed 3 Princess cruises with them and they are the best band on the high seas. They get the passengers involved in every session and before you know it you are having a GREAT time inspire of yourself. Being a New Years Eve cruise Princess did a great job of having lots to do. We went to the pool area and watched New Years come in on several of the Princess fleet sailing in places around the world via the big screen tv. Also STATIC was the entertainment and I would not have wanted to bring the New Year in any other way. We had a comedian Andrew was his first name can’t remember his last but he was very poor. Not many people laughed. A very nice Trio sang in the Piazza along with lots of fun stuff to do. They had Cha Cha and Rumba lessons. Easy to understand and learn the steps. Service was great and all staff members seemed truly happy to help. Captain Tuvo was an absolute breath of fresh air. His daily announcements were entertaining. He starts out saying Yoo Hoo and ends with bye bye. It is just fun, different and cute. Cabins were same as Regal and Royal. We had a balcony and there was plenty of room. We usually get a mini suite but they sold out rather quickly. I really wish there was a way to control the “chair hogs”. One lady was occupying 6 chairs by the pool all by herself. 2 of the chairs were never occupied by anyone but she had them blocked. So rude. We sat in our chairs for several hours and watched several chairs not be touched by anyone but had towels and belongings sitting there so no one else could use the chair. There has to be a way to stop that. I wish the cruise lines would come up with a solution. I would highly recommend Princess.
Cabin was a standard balcony. Plenty of room, well appointed.
