Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

The Breakaway was always clean and tidy and in very good shape. The layout is nice. The cabins were small, but well designed. One bummer: no college football was anywhere to be found during the bowl season.

We loved being able to walk around the ship outdoors and sit and chat by the sea. Specialty restaurants were plentiful and nice. We enjoyed Teppanyaki and Moderno. The food at non-specialty restaurants was ok – comparable to Carnival but not as good as Royal Caribbean or Princess. Bar-wise, we loved the Shakers Martini Bar. It was usually not very crowded and quiet and comfortable.

We really enjoyed that the shops are not all in your face hawking their merchandise. The layout is almost such that you never have to see a shop unless you want to. We were not disturbed too much by photographers as well. The atmosphere on the ship was laid back and great. Even though it is a big ship, it was easy to find your quiet spot, sit, and use your drink package (which is a must have!).
