I loved loved loved this cruise. I have been on many cruises and have sailed on most of the mainstream cruise lines – Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess, Carnival, Costa, MSC, Celebrity, and other cruise lines as well. The Koningsdam was really a surprise, I have sailed on Holland America Lines (HAL) before and I expected this ship to be similar to the other two HAL ships I previously traveled on.
Embarkation was slow but this is because Port Everglades have not upgraded the port facilities. The terminals in Port Everglades are antiquated and to small for the size of todays cruise ships.
Two days before sailing I received an email from Holland America offering me an upgrade to a balcony cabin. I decided to take advantage of the offer and loved the balcony cabin.

Loved the cabin. It is a little narrow but very comfortable.
