It sounded like fun to sail away for the Christmas holiday but it was last minute and many cruises were booked. Along comes Costa with their fantastic itinerary and price. I read many negative reviews before sailing but I am here to tell all of you and especially those of you in the US, not to pay attention to the negative reviews.

Embarkation was the fastest we have had out of 6 cruises including Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Carnival and MSC. We arrived about an hour after they said we could embark and got right on the ship with no waiting. Our room key was in the room so we went directly there and while checking out our cabin, the suitcases were delivered!

The balcony cabin on deck 7 was like any other balcony cabin room we have had however there was much more storage space on Luminosa.

Cabin Review

Balcony Premium

Roomy cabin with a larger than normal balcony. Lots of storage space and comfortable beds. Immaculate ALL the time!

Port Reviews

Freeport

Not much to do here. Many shops were closed because our itinerary was changed last minute.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Excellent land tour of the rum factory, shopping, fort and how the locals live.

Nassau

Very safe port to walk the streets in. There is a lot of shopping within walking distance of the pier.

Grand Turk

Not much to do at this port except walk around the few shops that are there and see the John Glenn Space exhibit.
