Sail Date: Dec 2019
Cabin: Balcony Stateroom

I chose this cruise for the itinerary, the price, and the ship. It was my first Solo cruise. It was my first Balcony cabin. It was my 4th cruise ever. The end of October I sailed on Royal Caribbean, Empress of the Seas. The things I really liked about MSC Davina: it is a beautiful ship, the staff is kind and helpful, the food was always good, the shows were always entertaining, there are plenty of swimming pools and lounge chairs. I enjoyed being with a multi-national group of passengers and crew. It felt like I had been on a trip around the world. The weather was perfect. The cabin was very clean. I absolutely loved having a balcony. I enjoyed all the ports. My favorite was Grand Cayman or Curacao. My least favorite is Ocho Rios because the vendors and tour/taxi people are very aggressive. They pester the heck out of you. I enjoyed this cruise so much I came home and booked a cruise for February 2, 2020 on the MSC Meraviglia.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Excellent Room Steward (Costa). Cabin was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Plenty of space in bathroom for toiletries. There is storage under the bathroom sink too. Both bedside tables had drawer space. The desk has a mini fridge (minibar) as well as drawer space.

Port Reviews

Aruba

As this was my 4th visit to Aruba, I knew what I wanted to do. I shopped a little, enjoyed the sunshine, and had lunch at El Gaucho, an Argentine Steakhouse. There are plenty of beautiful beaches and sites to see in Aruba. Also many casinos too.

Curacao

This was my first time in Curacao. I need more time to explore so I will have to return! While there I enjoyed shopping and walking around. Also won some money in a casino on the island!

Ocho Rios

The beaches are beautiful. I didn't care for the vendors and tour/taxi people pestering you. I walked with another couple to do a little shopping then we found a restaurant/bar that had free wifi and sat there for several hours just enjoying the view and music. It ended up being an enjoyable day.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

You have to take a tender boat to go ashore in Grand Cayman. That was easy enough. The beaches are beautiful. I walked around and did a little shopping. Found a Dairy Queen and enjoyed a blizzard in the sweltering heat and sunshine. It was an unexpected highlight of Grand Cayman. I will come back to Grand Cayman and spend more time on the beaches and in the water.
