We are platinum on Carnival and don’t have kids. We have been on 3 other cruise lines. Thought to give MSC a try because of the reasonable price. We were pleased with the ship design and onboard activities (for additional cost), everything else was average fare. Biggest disappointment was the lack of 24/7 self serve ice cream machines on board. Food in the dining room was average, nothing to rave about unless you only eat fast food. The ports of call were not remarkable unless it is your first cruise.
The onboard buffet was well laid out so there were no logjams ( except for omelettes). Food choices were somewhat limited compared to other cruise lines. Desserts were a pleasant surprise, they were way more flavorful than Carnival and smaller portions so you could sample a few without guilt. The only other free dining choice was the dining room, there are no Guys burgers or taco bars like you have on Carnival.
The embark/disembark process went well, even for Miami.
