What a great ship to cruise on, I believe the best and most friendliest staff are on this ship. There is always some kind of entertainment activity going on so if your are board it's because you did not consult your daily activities schedule. The ship is always being cleaned and when you disembark at a port the outside of the ship looks like new. They really work hard to earn your business. So if your want a great cruise look for a week on the Escape.
I wish the public areas were a bit larger like Royal Caribbean ie: the pool deck. There must be something NCL can do about the smoke drifting off the deck 7 area where the open Casino is, it stinks all the way down to deck 5.
I can't say enough about the staff. From the those that keep the place clean and the officers that greet you along the way, all were friendly happy and had a big smile. We bumped into GM Depak everywhere and he always had a smile and a handshake ready, The same can be said for Kivanc Ucar the Food and Beverage director, and Emilio Rodrigo the Head of House keeping. All excellent people who help to make our trip so special.
The cabin is comparable to Royal or Princess.
Very nice place to visit the beach or shop for anything you could think of, I've seen a guy bring 4 boxes of tile back to the ship on a hand truck.
Roatan is under construction so one day it will look good. The people are a bit aggressive outside the gate but be nice and just say no thanks and walk away, they are just looking to make a buck by offering some kind of service. we had a great time on our own outside of the port, this time we rode bike.
Always a nice visit to the private island and beach. NCL did a fantastic job on the landscaping and pool area.
You do realize that the beach is only a 20 - 30 minute walk from the port(depends on your ability), you really don't have to take a taxi if you don't want to. FYI, the beach starts at the Lighthouse.
