chose MSC due to what we perceived to be good value. We have cruised with Carnival, Hal, Norwegian, and RC (Allure). This was my 16th cruise.
The ship is massive and new. It is well thought out and is easy on the eyes. We had an inside cabin that lacked slightly from a storage standpoint but was modern, attractive and comfortable.
The food was the best that we have had on any cruise line as it embraced both North American and Mediterranean dishes. The meals were interesting with lots of choice and everything was fresh. I would put HAL slightly ahead on dining room options but MSC would win for galley options. I agree with others that they have the best pizza at sea as well as really good hamburgers (just slightly behind Guy's Burger). I laughed when I thought about reading peoples reviews that said "they wouldn't serve MSC food to their dogs". I honestly think that they are planted reviews from the competition.
The cabin was the most attractive cabin I've experienced. It had a great TV and was set up well. It was underwhelming from a storage standpoint.
Loved the place and am looking forward to it's maturity. It is interesting to know what it was and what it will be.
