Cabin: Deluxe Stateroom

We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We were in a standard stateroom which was very comfortable and well-serviced every day. We didn't miss having a larger window or balcony, as it was March and not really warm enough to sit outside. Also, as river cruisers do sometimes moor side by side, the window of one cabin can look directly into the window of the next boat so a view isn't always available. We prefer to go up on deck and see the view all around us! The food was superb and the atmosphere very friendly. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite and couldn't do enough for us. We really enjoyed the included excursions and the highlight was our visit to the Black Forest-as we climbed higher through the mountains it began to snow and , by the time we reached the cuckoo clock centre, there was a blanket of snow. It looked just like a Christmas card! We have travelled with Viking before on a river and ocean cruise and have already booked two more ocean cruises! We would definitely go on a river cruise with Viking again.

Deluxe Stateroom

Very comfortable with a large, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. I particularly like the heated floor and mirror which doesn't steam up! Large enough for us and all our luggage too.
