3rd Oceania cruise. Chose Australia to have visited six of the seven continents. Was on inside and without request was allowed to board at 11:20 after checking out of hotel. They provide food until room ready just before 3. Food was excellent, but it appeared that presentation was less elaborate than prior cruises. Ports were well chosen for excursions but second half was very hot (around 40 degrees Celsius) and humid. Dembarkation was excellently handled. We chose OLIFE excursions but arranged own for great Barrier reef, komoto dragons and Bali. Overall, wished we could done second leg around western Australia but had to get back to work. Made many new friends playing Trivia and other O Points games on board. Loved scavenger hunt to match pictures to items on board.
Shows were good but not excellent. Only saw 2 children and vast majority were over 65. Roughly 1/2 of passengers were from US, 1/3 from Canada. 5/6 of passengers had sail with Oceania previously.
We found we were in cabin primary to shower, change, and sleep. Therefore did not need balcony. Shower is small but meets needs. Lots of storage areas (was still discovering spaces on day 3. Suitcases fit under bed. Lots of outlets for power and charging electronics. We did take a night light and plugged it in under the desk.
Bus tour of sights
Tour lasts about 1 1/2 hours and is all walking from dock and back. It was extremely hot and 3 people from cruise suffered heat stroke. Saw many dragons, all were sleeping/resting. Lots of great pictures.
Did tour with top komoto tours. Was exact same as cruise ship but 1/2 the cost.
