Found a nice deal monetarily on this cruise which included gratuities. In addition, I have looked on line and found that celebrity is rated number 1 in the more economically priced cruise lines. The Capt. and executive crew were very professional and funny. On one occasion the Capt. said he is going to sound his horn 3 times going by a certain area which he said "because I can" which I thought was hilarious. The entertainment was very good. That being said, I was very disappointed in the quality and availability of the food. To be fair, we did not participate in the specialty dining at all which costs additional money, so I have no idea about that quality. They were constantly pushing, coming to your table to sell you something. Specialty dining, beverages, etc. My wife and I don't drink alcoholic beverages, so a beverage package, at the cost they charge for it, was not worth it. This leaves us with coffee, tea, water and some juice through a juice reconstitution machine. So, not great. The food was very average in taste. A lot of the food was very spiced, leaning toward indian spices. I don't mind hot food at all, but it seemed like spices on most of the food was an attempt to mask mediocre food. At times you were left with pizza as a better choice. This was the buffet food. They did have a grill for burgers and such, but wasn't on the cruise to eat burgers, hot dogs and French fries. The wait staff in the main dining room were excellent. Dennis and NiKadek very professional and helpful. Again though, the food was very average at best. Not at all what I expected from the number 1 rated cruise line. We had a balcony room. Nice balcony. Beds and pillows are terrible. No comfort to the beds at all. Very hard. Pillows flatten out, but they give you lots of them. Bathroom was ok. Decent size shower. Tight toilet area for a balcony room. Single bowl sink. Room was adequate. No pen or note paper provided in the room. Nice tv with ok programming. Again, not on a cruise to watch tv, but was sometime on this cruise left with that being a better choice for the time. I had to mention to the room steward to vacuum the floor and clean the toilet. ( we don't leave the room messy, so the steward may have felt he could do a once over and call it good). My wife had some of her medication taken from her pill bottle. The bottle was only in the room, so it had to be cruise staff. Never got our $50 on board credit. My wife had a little money on the cruise card which she didn't use up at the casino, $19 and change. We went to the customer relations for reimbursement and they weren't able to return the money. Spent an hour on the phone post cruise and still don't have it resolved. So, pluses and minuses to the cruise. Wouldn't go out of my way to book with celebrity again. They need better problem solving staff. Oh, I almost forgot, really enjoyed the almost entirely real grass top deck. They had a nice video screen to watch movies while sitting on a real grass lawn.
