HIGH-SPEED INTERNET

With Celebrity aggressively pushing their packages, many more guests than in the past are opting for the internet package. Coupled with this, there’s the increasing number who are Elite status, with free 2x45 minutes internet, so many, who may not otherwise be using the internet, were. The result was I had to wait 36 minutes just to view my Gmail, at 4 am, yes the internet was that slow! Celebrity did give me some more minutes, but explained the fault was Gmail's security. Huh?

I certainly dodged the bullet when my daughter declined our invitation to join us on the cruise since internet service would have been an essential for her. I assured her on a pricy new ship like the Edge the internet would be superfast. Had she been persuaded, we would have been enemies for life!

Cabin Review

Edge Veranda Stateroom

CABINS

We had an infinity cabin 7201 midship. On the sail out, the sea was rough and the cabin creaked all night. After 2 nights the seas calmed and maintenance came to do what they could, so the noise on the journey back wasn’t so bad. If you’re a light sleeper, this is not the cabin for you. I understand though, my cabin wasn’t the only one creaking.

I loved the balcony new layout! The plus to me with any balcony cabin is, not so sitting out there, as it is having ceiling to floor, wall to wall daylight. You know immediately what the weather is like as opposed to an inside cabin. With the infinity cabin you not only get more daylight to appreciate the day, you can open the window and feel it! The “balcony” is private as it is part of the cabin and looks stunning as you enter the cabin. If only my apartment balcony was like this!

SAFE: Nothing can be done about it now, but be aware the safe is tiny. My guess is 6” x 8”. The height is around 4 or 5 inches. Forget trying to fit a laptop in there.
