We chose this trip because no flight involved, departs and returns Los Angeles, California, USA. I titled it Crowd Shopping cruise because if you don't like crowds and are not there just for shopping or spending more money on your cruise, this is not the cruise for you. The marketing is relentless. You could have a bonfire with the paper advertisements, and they are plentiful on the TV, too. Nearly 11 days plus some additional nights at sea slants this sailing toward senior, and therefore handicapped cruisers, yet the facilities are below par for that audience. Too few wheelchair assistants for the number of passengers needing assistance. Spent a lot of time waiting for elevators. Forget about the wi-fi, plan to be totally out of touch or you will be disappointed. Could not use many of the spa and fitness facilities, no seats or grab bars or non-slip strips on tile floors. Excluded from 1 port and many shore excursions. Shore excursion buses also below expectations, only 1 door for loading / unloading and non-working restroom. Hilo tour only had driver/guide, so you could not talk to him or ask a question during the driving. I tried to do 1 jigsaw puzzle 3 times, they kept putting it away even with permission to leave it out and "do not disturb" sign. Finally they moved it to a deck I could not get to (stairs only). Lack of coordination between onboard Guest Services and Casino / Spa, you can charge services and gambling to your shipboard account but cannot get the credit there for winning, must collect separately. Casino has only 1 craps table and very limited hours while other tables are staffed without players. Food is good, menus and dining room management not so good. Our cabin steward was the best!! Disembarkation went extremely well!

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Spacious and clean, except evidence of mold around bathtub partially covered with caulk, and rusted balcony. No flat surface large enough for any suitcase except the beds, and no protectors provided. Hard to keep items on bedside tables due to lamps bolted in center.
