My wife loves cruises; this was our 4th cruise this year (Oceania, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Holland America). We enjoyed this cruise the most— largely because of the destinations. The lake regions of Chile and Argentina are spectacular and going around the Horn was a treat. Buenos Aires and Montevideo are beautiful, interesting cities. We enjoyed seeing the penguins on the Falkland Islands.

We arranged our own tours, which saved us a lot of money and gave us more flexibility. At each stop, I negotiated with taxi drivers to take us where we wanted to go. Well worth the effort.

The food and service were excellent. We bought the drink package, which was cheaper than other companies. We ate at each of the specialty restaurants, but they weren’t any better than the main dining room. The baked goods were superb. I loved the breakfast buffet.

Cabin Review

Neptune Deluxe Verandah Suite

Old, dated rooms with one electrical outlet and an extra small TV. It’s time they install a streaming entertainment system. The bathroom was too small. The room had plenty of storage space. The Internet was expensive and unreliable.

Port Reviews

Punta Arenas

Took cab to town. Interesting but not the best stop

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Driver spoke excellent English and cost was a fraction of the cruise line's

Stanley

Van available at tinder dock. $20. Van runs every 20 minutes

Montevideo

Interesting walk around the city. Nice place
