I have been cruising the seas for the past 30+ years on all the major cruise lines. RCCL we are Diamond plus. I will use this as my baseline when critiquing this cruise line. I have some major complaints but first some compliments.

We sailed on Dec 1st out of Miami on the very beautiful ship the Meraviglia. I will say that the ship is one of the nicest I have sailed on. Super clean and well laid out except for the crazy maze in the forward section of the ship on inside rooms.

We booked 8 months or so in advance, we thought we had a good deal with the drink package and wifi is included. Excited to see the new ship and to find out how MSC runs its ships we headed down to the port. Quick and easy to get signed in and then sent to the waiting room. side note. I was offered a match for my RCCL status.

Cabin Review

Bella Inside Stateroom

Super small, smallest of all ships we have sailed on. Cabin steward was not friendly and when we asked for Tissue he said they did not have any. Had to blow nose in toilet paper. The steward would not take away used cups or plates. We had to put them outside in the hallway for removal. No turndown service or towel animals. No ice, TV got 6 channels, half were in spanish. Worst TV service on the seas, always cutting in and out.

Port Reviews

Ocho Rios

Duns River Falls has become a giant tourist trap. $25 to just walk into the park. Last time for us.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Clean as always. Ocean was a bit rough that day so beach was not available. Tender service was as expected.

Cozumel

This was their first week to have ships at their island. Nice setting but still needs lots of work. Don't walk anywhere barefoot as stones and rocks are all over the ground. Beach was nice but dredge sand is like silt in the water. very cloudy. Food service was poor. very long lines and not organized. Work in progress.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Island was nice but seas were rough so the beach was a mess. A few ships did not stop due to ocean and tender service.

Miami

long line to get bags checked but once in things went rather smooth.
