We decided to go with Viking at the recommendation of a friend and were so glad we did. Despite the initial cost being higher than other cruise lines, the value was in the included excursions (all of which were first rate), wi-if, and wine and beer at meals. The food was far superior to any other line, including Celebrity and RCL. We opted to upgrade our beverage package to include cocktails and more select wines and felt that was worth the cost as we enjoyed cocktails in the lounge each evening both before and/or after dinner while listening to music and speakers. The staff were the most accommodating and personable we have ever met on our various trips around the world. The ship was beautifully maintained, we loved the decor, and the amenities were very nice. We particularly enjoyed the fresh cookies and coffee station which was available 24/7. The itinerary was perfect and spectacularly beautiful. We highly recommend this particular cruise and Viking in general.
