We chose this cruise for the dates as a holiday cruise. The food on this cruise was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had on a cruise. Totally tasteless, bland, poor presentation, impossible to find some of the ingredients that are mentioned in the description. Example: strip steak with peppercorn sauce had absolutely no peppercorns or taste of them in the bland sauce that it sat on and served with shoestring French fries, extremely poor choice of side. Service in restaurants is extremely slow. With a premium beverage package we were not able to get bottled water at a bar without an up charge, absolutely absurd! We could get espresso or cappuccino in the restaurant without an up charge but not at the Java Cafe, this makes absolutely no sense! The buffet restaurant had few choices and also terrible food. The omelette stations in the morning had choices of ingredients that looked like they were cut up and left out for at least a day. Everything in the “specialty restaurants” used to be main dining room menu options on theme nights prior to the change to “free style” cruise and specialty restaurant options. As a Latitudes member I will never sail Norwegian again! The last cruise on Norwegian prior to this on the Sky had slightly better food but the food and service on Norwegian has definitely declined tremendously over the years. The entertainment was decent but nothing to get excited about, fairly typical of most cruise ship entertainment. We chose not to do any shore excursions in the only port, Costa Maya, and got The ship just to explore the port shopping and entertainment area. Many of the public rest rooms were dirty and The men's rooms often smelled of urine. Disembarkation in Miami was horrible! Totally unorganized and due to a fire alarm going off in the terminal was delayed to make the situation far worse than it already had been. Both of the queue lines had stretched all the way to the now and stern prior to the delay and it took far too long for them to make an announcement regarding the delay due to the alarm asking passengers to remain in lounges, etc. Total disorganization!
