We took a eastern Caribbean cruise which went to Tortolla, St Thomas and Great Stirrup Cay. As, always, we choose to stay in The Haven. It is well worth the extra money and takes all the hassles out of cruising. Embarkation is a breeze and once we made it trough security, our check in took less than ten minutes. We were escorted directly to the Haven area. We met our butler and then went to the Haven restaurant for lunch. There is always a great selection of delectable meals or you can pretty much order what you want. They will cater to your individual tastes. The house wine selection is more than adequate and there selection of premium wines is outstanding. One of our favorite places was the Haven bar area. It makes for a great gathering place to meet the other Haven guests. There are no lines to wait in or people trying to push past you. The bartenders are the best of the best and take delight in creating new drinks. Our favorite bartender created an Amaretto, Baileys and pineapple juice drink that was unbelievable. Our room was keep in order by our room steward who would great us by name no matter how far down the hall he was working. When we left our room, he would ensure it was made up by the time we returned. Our butler catered to our specific needs. He paid attention to what portion of afternoon room snacks we would eat or not eat. If we did t eat it, he would not bring that item again. We loved the fresh baked cookies which he kept us well supplied. The concierge made sure we made it on and off the ship with no hassles and always found us the best seats at the shows. He was always there to book our excursions and made sure we made to our meeting point on time with no waiting in lines. Bottom line, if you love to cruise but are tired of waiting in lines and fighting for privacy, then the NCL Haven needs to be in your future plans. It’s not cheap, but to my wife and I, it is well worth the extra money. Once you experience The Haven, it will be hard to look forward to a cruise without it.

The Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Balcony

Our room was already for us when we got on board. The room, a two bedroom villa suite, was large and well appointed. NCL switched to Starbucks products which was a big surprise. The single serve coffee pot made some of the richest and creamiest coffee I have ever tasted. The bed and linens were beyond comfortable. The master bathroom was large with the most comfortable soaking bathtub. A very large picture window allowed for fantastic ocean views as you took a nice long relaxing bath. The shower had an array of shower hearts that varied from soothing to invigoration. It also had a window where you could enjoy ocean views. There were two closets in the master bedroom and more than enough drawers. As always, the Haven staff was unbelievable. Each time we interacted with the staff they made us feel like we were the only people that mattered.
