I always wanted to try NCL. The minute we got on the ship it reeked of disgusting smoke. Come to find out this cruise company, could care less about non smokers. The president of this line and the designers must be smokers, because you can't escape it. Its in the hallways, the rooms in the restaurants, on the balconies, the theater, absolutely disgusting and gross. My wife has lung cancer and I felt so bad for her on our honeymoon. Had marijuana smokers on the balcony beside us, complained and they did nothing. The deck officer on deck 12, tells me to contact her immediately on her direct line if it happened again, lo and behold when I called her 4 times she never answered. 4 hours after the fact she finally answers and says I will be right down. What a complete joke and a liar. The casino is in the middle of the ship with zero walls, its open to the complete ship. Apparently the smoke is supposed to read the signs and not move from the casino. Its open to 3 floors with 8 restaurants are right in the area with zero walls. Are they complete idiots, with their designs. Even in the casino, the "non smoking" area is separated by one foot of air. I guess the smoke can't read the no smoking signs. Just to show how little they care about the 80% of people that don't smoke, they have all the garbage machines nobody wants to play in the "non smoking" area. If you want to play good machines, you have to get polluted by the 20% that smoke. No days in the casino with no smoking. We went to eat at one of the restaurants on the first day and you may as well forget smoke free, it felt like we had a smoker right beside. On the same night we asked to take our dessert to our room, because my wife couldn't breathe in the restaurant! A stern NO from the server. It was everywhere, the grossest most disgusting smoke lovers ship ever. If you want to kill your kids early or yourself, go on this ship, but if you do, you must not care about your health or your kids. Their "smoking" room on the 15th deck is a complete joke, even smokers were commenting how stupid it was built. Basically it's an area wide open to the rest of the ship, but hey the smoke should know better, it can't wander from that joke of a smoking area, no door, basically two slats of glass open at the top, middle and bottom. What do you think the smoke will do, when the ship is moving? It's again everywhere, you could feel and smell it on the other side of the ship. As for service, this is the rudest most uninformed group of people I have ever encountered. First day we're in the jewelry store, Vadim almost knocks my wife to the ground, so he can rush to make his sale. I called him out on it, "hey that was rude, you should never step in front of your guests" I got the old stupid rye smile, he didn't give a crap as long as he got his sale. We didn't get our complimentary soap and hand cream until day 5. Our room didn't get done one day, we had to ask the room attendant to do it, her answer, "I thought I already did it." Got room service on the first morning it showed up without what we ordered, called down, "that will take 45 minutes to fix our mistake" I wouldn't order it for 8 if I wanted it at 9. That day our dirty dishes were left in our room until I put them in the hallway at 4pm, her answer was "I tought you weren't finished" cripes our dirty linen was on top of the food!! Day two we put our card out about 8 hours before the deadline to get room service the next morning, they never picked it up so we got none. I asked 5 different members a question about the ship, I got a blank stare from 4 of them. One that I asked, was where's the bake shop, again "uh, the bake shop?" Was her response, come to find it, about 120ft from where she works. Totally clueless workers, they seem to not comprehend, what you're asking. Even the cruise director, was asked a question at a question period, he didn't answer what he was asked, he blabbed on about something else. On Stirup Cays, I asked to buy lime juice for my wife as she can't have alcohol because of her cancer, even told the bartender, he showed me the bottle of lime juice and said no, you can have our other juice, I had to give 20% for that service!!! In the 7 days, I got one morning of warm breakfast, all others, cold eggs, cold hashbrowns, cold sausages, luke warm coffee and tea. Had to ask 4 times if bread was coming, BREAD! Like they had to bake it or something. This is the minute the dinning room opens on some occasions. I finally said something to Jeanette Asst Maitre D, she promised if I came to her restaurant the next morning, she would take care of us and make it was warm, do you think, that my breakfast was warm? Ya right corn beef hash felt it came from a fridge, eggs were cold. She offered a Margaritaville lunch on the house for my troubles, just go up and "I already contacted them and got you the free meal". We arrive and the guy said, after swiping my card, "you know there's a $18 surcharge", as with everything else there's a gouging surcharge, even when you gamble, they surcharge your card when you apply a charge to your card. So anyways, Jeanette obviously didn't bother to call up!! So we order an appetizer and entré, appys show up and 5 seconds later he plots the entre right beside, so it can get cold. We go to dinner and show, entré shows up, then 10 seconds later the desert arrives and is placed on our already overcrowded table, where they sat 10 people at 4 single tables, one of the couples was eating on a crack, where the tables joined and guess what? There were at least 25 other empty tables. Basically this cruise line doesn't give a crap if you're a non smoker and doesn't care to give proper service. Once on this ship the whole week, did I see a worker step out of the way for a guest/client to walk by. I saw a worker almost run over an older guest with his cart and never said excuse me or pardon me, or I'm sorry. They give you a Freestyle sheet with all the activities, which are supposed to be the same as their ITV, the information didn't even match. Tried to reserve a show on the tv and this is what it said, "reservation required, first come first serve, reservation will be released 10 minutes before show, so I click on it as is it reservation or not? Well when you click on it a box pops up and says reservation not required. How do you plan anything? One night we never got a freestyle, Why? Room attendant's response, duh "I don't know"". Had desert one night, it said comes with chocolate sauce and strawberries, do you know what strawberries is? A dot of strawberry sauce. Another night our dinner said, comes with fingerling potatoes, what's fingerling potatoes on Norwegian? Frozen french fries!!! At brwakfast I take a ham and cheese omelet, i still can't find the ham and the cheese was exactly one small strand about 1 CM long and cold eggs. I have several and I mean several others to write, but my finger is getting ready to fall off. The GM needs to teach his workers. But, when I approached him about, his ship, I said this will probably be my first and last time on NCL, his response, "oh ok" if he doesn't give a crap, why should his workers, fire that guy!!! Too too many more to list. Unfortunately a couple of good workers were outnumbered by thousands that provide brutal service. Cripes even this site wasn't working on the ship and it was supposed to be free, their free upload a picture to facebook, never ever worked, I tried a dozen times. Funny how all the items that are free don't work, but all the ones you paid for worked!!!! Can't add photos it doesn't work

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Nice cabin, brutal service

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

My cruise started with my first contact with a NCL employee. She takes my picture, sends me on the way, so I can be stopped before I board, because she didn't bother to tell me to take my hat off, so I had to get another while my wife is waiting. I guess she couldn't do her job properly, or she wasn't trained properly

Great Stirrup Cay

Bartender refused to sell me lime juice for my wife with cancer, even though, I asked and told him about her illness

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Finally got good service and polite service, they should send their workers there to learn about being polite and accommodating

Cozumel

Getting tired of every cruise we have to stop there, stop forcing this boring money grabbing, gouging port on people.
