Day 1- We arrived at the Port around 10:30 am. The night before I had looked extensively online about what I needed to bring and all I could find on the Carnival site was information about bringing your passport, birth certificate, photo identification, etc. Well, apparently you were supposed to printed off your Funpass, but it wasn't a big deal because one of the workers just took our information and was able to print it off right there. From there you go through security similar to that at the airport. Then we waited about another 15 minutes before checking in for the ship. We were ready to board! The process was pretty easy.

We weren't really hungry for lunch on the Lido deck, but they had quite a bit of food out and most people were eating. They told us we weren't allowed in our cabins until 1:30, so we had a lot of time to kill and were wishing we hadn't gotten there quite so early. Around 12:30 my husband had a terrible headache and we just decided to see if our cabin was clean and if they'd let him lay down. We walked right to our room and opened it up. It had already been cleaned so we set our stuff down and began relaxing. There were quite a few TV channels, although several of them were Carnival stations that never showed anything interesting.

The rest of our afternoon was rather uneventful and we stayed in the cabin until dinner. There are three dining time options; early, late, or anytime. When we booked this cruise almost a year ago the anytime was not an option, we were signed up for 8:15 late dining. We arrived down at Truffles and were seated with another young newlywed couple. They were friendly but it was a little awkward sitting at a booth and being face to face with people we didn't know. I ordered a ceaser salad and it was not good at all. My husband ordered some chill tomato soup that was alright. For dinner I had the vegetarian Indian dinner which was great assuming you like Indian food. My husband ordered the ribs which fell of the bone and were fantastic. For dessert we ordered creme brule and it was amazing! The best you will ever have! I also ordered the warm chocolate cake because I heard so many good things about it and it lived up the hype!

Balcony

Cabin 8A

It was pretty good sized. We had a balcony room and it felt plenty spacious enough for two people. The bed wasn't very comfortable but I never lost any sleep over it. The bathroom was tiny but I was had realistic expectations for that and didn't mind.
