  • Sail Date: Dec 2019
  • Destination: the Western Caribbean
  • Cabin Type: Ocean View Balcony

We had a balcony stateroom on deck 9, and it was nice and our cabin steward was funny and an all around great guy. The food was wonderful! The main dining room food was excellent, as well as Johnny Rockets for breakfast, Chops Grill for dinner, and Giovanni's Table was good. Our servers in the main dining room Dini and Russell were very good, and always pleasant. The shows were fabulous!!! Mama Mia was done very well we saw it on Broadway, but they performed brilliantly. We saw Santa which was exciting! We rode the carousel twice and the rising tide bar once. I loved walking through Central Park because you don't even feel like your on a ship. The ice show was different, but I really enjoyed how they did the monopoly game board with the different neighborhoods. Blue Planet was very different, but it kept me intrigued so I liked that as well. Ronn Locus was good also. I liked all of the shows. Coco Cay was a blast! I cannot believe what they did with that island from the last time I saw it which was just a bbq pit and now so much to do. We took the balloon ride which is so smooth! The view from up there is incredible. They are very cautious because the Bahamas is breezy. They sent the balloon up for a test run to make sure it was safe. And up we went, and the view is just beautiful! They have restaurants on the island, pools, the balloon, and many shops are set up. I would love to go back there again some day. We visited the Diamond Lounge several times, and Haffner was such a delightful man. People don't take offense if he asks for your card, he has a job to do and he does it very well. He cannot do enough for you. He says hello to everyone, asks if they need a drink, or something to eat, and makes reservations for restaurants and shows. He always has a smile on his face. People were down right rude to him though. I did not like the way people yelled at him for asking for their cards. Haffner keep on doing what you do best and that is just being you. I cannot wait to see you again in March for the transatlantic crossing to Barcelona Spain.

We used the fitness center once and it was very nice. It was clean, they had plenty of clean towels, but people clean the machines when your done, it's the right thing to do. Be prepared for many kids on board with many coaches and strollers which was such a pain! I don't understand why there were so many kids, they should have been in school. That is the only things about Royal they cater to the families and that's what you get.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

I thought the cabin was adequate. We had a nice size balcony with a table and 2 chairs. It would have been nice to have had little stools to put our feet on which we had on another Royal ship. The a/c did not work too good but we made a call to maintenance and they fixed it. It's always nice to have the safe in the room for valuables. The bed and pillows were very comfy. I liked the shower because it had the rounded doors which is so much better than the curtain. I also like that they thought to put a bar across the one corner which comes in handy for shaving legs. For the most part is was quiet, and very convenient to the elevators. It's not a far walk at all.
