First and last cruise with Holland. Neptune suite. Winter getaway with friends for a week. Good first impression. Good food well presented in lower deck restaurants. Most staff attentive but spotty service (numerous instances pointed out when asked for our feedback) indicative of either a need for better training or management. One gross instance of food served us on a very dirty plate. Other instance of an obviously bored waiter. Another of an order placed with waiter that never made it to the table. Room service slow (no ice or refrigerator beverage replenishment as should have been routine), but cabins were well cleaned every day. Most egregious management errors were a single instance of insult to one of us by a cruise services (male) when we tried to correct a dinner seating error not of our making. Second error was promenade deck experience with ships crew working parties doing their work (necessary work however) on one occasion during a morning period when deck was filled with walkers and joggers, specifically drenching us every lap by crew cleaning life boats, grinding steel for painting prep and painting. Necessary work for sure, but better scheduled during port calls or at an hour less populated by deck passengers. Some crew like Doni and others made our experience more enjoyable. Our last cruise with Holland. Going back to Windstar.
