We got married on the cruise. We had 13 guests. After the cruise we said good-bye to them and went on a 2 week honeymoon in Hawaii. The 4 night cruise turned out being perfect (3 nights would have been too short).

We had chosen the wedding package "At sea" that cost $3,000 which included the things described on the website: cake, flowers, dinner and breakfast for 2 (awesome), etc. Doesn't include the cruise, e.g. cabins, tips, etc. After that we added to the package: you place the items you want in your cart and pay on line. We picked champagne, strawberries, and piano for a 1 hour reception (many choices are available, the cost is per pers. for 1 or 2h). All the meals on the ship are awesome and there is plenty of entertainment so we didn't add more to our cart. We didn't upgrade the cake either and it was more than large enough. We did purchase the photo package and video: really expensive but very well done as they take you to private (secret) places on the ship. I requested no filming during the ceremony, only during the reception and photo time (that gave us a discount too).

Even though there were hundreds of passengers on the ship we felt we had our "own wedding" because the ceremony and reception were in the private chapel, and our family dinner was in a corner of the restaurant. Passengers smiled at us gently saying "congratulations" but nobody was staring at us. Also we were the only couple getting married on that cruise so we were the stars on board when we went dancing at night. The coordinator was awesome, e.g. he had us "get selected" for a game which added to our fun, we even "won". He answered all our questions (e.g. get the wedding dress ironed). Princess upgraded our cabin to a suite, having more space to get dressed was much appreciated. Conclusion: we do recommend getting married on a Princess cruise!

Cabin Review

Suite with Balcony

Princess upgraded us from a cabin with balcony to a suite with balcony. It turned out that having more space to get ready for the wedding ceremony (put on the dress, etc.) was a good thing.

Port Reviews

Astoria, Oregon

Astoria is a charming and quiet port, we enjoyed it.
