Our travel agent raved about MSC and their new man-made private island. Our trip on the Meraviglia was a cruise to remember it was horrible. Embarkcation went ok even though the lines were long, they went fast. Upon entering the ship, no staff and no welcome drink. Entering our balcony cabin #11069, there was no toilet paper nor tissues. Had to get our steward to give us a roll of toilet paper and another roll of toilet paper and used as tissues. The closet had 2 tiny drawers, 2 tiny shelves and a safe shelf on 1 side for clothes; the other 1/2 was for hanging clothes; not enough space. No other drawers for clothes. The MSC ad said a piece of luggage could be stored on a shelf in closet - wrong! We were up on the pool deck where they showed the Muster Station life vest demo on the large screen. There were no Life Vests in our cabin either. The TV only had 2 channels and more for MSC ads only. The position of the TV could not be angled - it's stationary on the wall so I couldn't see the TV from the far end of the bed that was next to the balcony glass door. All Cirque de Solei shows were cancelled due to a technical glitch. The 8:40P show of the sky dome was cancelled. On board we were told Ocean Cay was not ready for the public so that too was cancelled. Instead of visiting another island, the ship floated around the sea one whole day. To make up for the cancelled Ocean Cay island, MSC gave a 20% voucher for another cruise and $100 per cabin of onboard credit. Not enough in my humble opinion. We saw the Rock Legends Theater Show that was pretty good, but had to get reservations before entering theater. The way the steps in the theater are, there is a potential for a lawsuit as there a need for a hand rail the way the steps are configured. Breakfast in the main dining room - eggs benedict consisted of a hard boiled egg; we returned for another. The second plate was a soft boiled egg with a dash of hollandaise sauce. We gave up and ordered something else. Dinner - slices of veal shank turned out to be some kind of breaded patty; couldn't discern if it was veal or chicken. A smoking section was next to the children's day care center and the lingering of smoke permeated the hallway to the children's play area. We've been on MSC Opera and Armonia so it wasn't like this MSC was a first. It will be the last though as we're through with MSC.

A friend dropped us off at the MSC Terminal F in Miami, Florida for our three night cruise on the MSC Meraviglia on Nov. 21 - Nov. 24, 2019. Embarkcation went smoothly even with the long lines. No complaints.
There were five ships at port in Nassau at the same time. No complaints.
We felt like either hostages or kidnapped as we took this short cruise to see the brand new man made private island MSC developed for its guests. Major disappointment while on board we were notified Ocean Cay was not ready for guests after MSC had advertised that it was. Felt this was a Bait and Switch scheme. Instead of sailing to a different island, the Meraviglia chose to float around the Caribbean sea for a whole day.
