The Christmas markets were lovely and the food was good.
Cleanliness is a concern-found someone else’s sock under my bed at check in. Despite asking to have it he room vacuumed and the stained coverlet and curtain changed out for clean ones, it took 2 days and numerous discussions to occur.
The often haughty cruise director gave misleading pricing (different numbers to different people) about upgrades. She spent time with only a few passengers and insured the tipping was OFTEN mentioned and provided separate envelopes for her own tips. She suggested we provide reviews with all 5’s while onboard. The excursions were great except that often you were herded into the living room to be overdressed awaiting your color to be called. One awful excursion included a chop chop train that was packed like sardines and overheated with no purpose except to transport passengers to a cold bench where you had a “wine tasting” which was really a sales pitch.
The dining room was nice but I saw a waiter pick up a passengers fork from the floor and place it back on the table. Also, there wasn’t enough seating on the dining room at times despite the ship not being full.
The cabin is well laid out The bathroom is surprisingly nice. The mattress was comfortable and linens lovely.
Basel was the exit point for the cruise. The port is accessible to the city
Cologne was lovely!!!! A very busy town that was beautiful. The cathedral clock is. Not to be missed! The video is only in German however so focus on the clock.
View All 79 Le Petite France ReviewsYou need a ticket to enter the clock area of the cathedral. Plan your arrival to see the clock chime at noon
