We are return cruisers with NCL but this past cruise may be our last with them. The Getaway is a beautiful ship. The decor is elegant without some of the gaudy features some cruislines have. The ship is way too big. Too many guests and not nearly enough staff. The venues are too small for even a small percentage of the guests to attend. Very few after dinner shows. No nightly comedy. Syd Norman's Pour house was our favorite club with great 80's bands and an Eagles tribute band. Good luck getting in. The food in the main dining rooms was less that thrilling and the service was lacking. No fun singing crew nights. No lobster night. No exciting odd dishes. If you want any of that you have to pay more for specialty dining. This is not the first disappointing cruise with NCL. Last year we were on the Pearl and found the food to be terrible. Also no fun whimsical towel animals in your room. No turning down of your bed. Oh, and the ba package. Watered down alcohol and not enough bartenders. Getting a drink was like a cattle call and many of the bartenders were just rude.
Our room stewart Omar was great
Port of New Orleans have significantly improved their embarking and disembarking process.
We wanted to go to Paradise beach and we took a taxi who charged 7.00 per person and dropped us off somewhere else
Love Harvest Caye. It is NCLs private island so no pushy vendors. The bar is super expensive. We live the kayaking
Our excursion was cancelled due to bad weather but the 3 stars are for the pushy vendors. Not willing to negotiate.
