We received 3 day shake down cruise to Princess Cay for only port taxes due to repeater status. chose Inside category since only a short cruise. had only carry-on luggage. drove to port from Metro Orlando in less than 4 hours. time stamp on parking ticket was 11:49 am and we were onboard ship before 1 PM so although crowded with long lines embarkation went very smoothly and quickly. .received new Princess Medallion in lieu of key card and briefly explained to us at check-in and given a guide book for its use. Our Inside cabin on Aloha deck midships was huge! biggest inside Princess cabin we've ever received ( other than super-sized handicapped -equipped staterooms.) The tip to tip dimensions were actually 10 feet wide by 17 3/4 feet deep. (I always bring a tape measure since I started cruising in earnest in 1982 !)) excellent room steward, tons of closets, shelves, drawers ( enough for a world cruise, actually). convenient to central stairs and 6 elevators also. we had a bite in the World Marketplace ( LIdo buffet)-very large and tasty selections and well-laid out. lifeboat drill/emergency drill went very quickly too.

we choose old-fashioned second sitting at a table for 2 in the rear Cielo dining room on deck 6. excellent service by our Macedonian waiter Nikolai. all the food was at the proper temperature and tasty. no "duds" ! we had open sit-down breakfast every morning as well. the dining room was open for a sit down lunch the one day at sea which was enjoyable as well with shared table sitting.

as we are not "Beach" people we did not go ashore at Princess Cay ( had been there before). those aboard we spoke with said it was a good experience. Read more
