This cruise was booked for my husband to spend his birthday on the Danube. We had fabulous weather, no rain for 17 days. Unfortunately we were cruising over Easter which limited some shore activities. The crew were great, very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The food was good quality but a bit weird at times. They must eat some odd things in parts of Germany. We have done ocean cruising and I found our cabin small in comparison. We loved the under floor heating in the shower. There were lots of little extras with viking that made it special. Real champagne for drinks parties for example. The shore excursions were well organised and with one exception we had excellent local guides. The program manager was very funny and told some interesting stories along the way. My main complaint was the sun deck was flattened for five consecutive days. You are told there are times during the cruise when this can be the case, but I think it should have been made clearer.
Small but spotless
We had lovely walk across the bridge and looked round city centre. Went into the cathedral, which was partial covered due to Holy week.
We were there very early in the morning. Nothing was open. We just wandered round the pretty streets and along banks of Moselle
Lovely walk with good guide. It's a one street town so you can't get lost.
We had been to Amsterdam before so wandered where we knew near ship
It was a very hot Easter Sunday in Wurzburg. We just took the excursion up to the Bishop's palace and back to ship.
Lovely town. Good local guide. Tried the smokey beer.
We went by coach into the town. Lots of walking down from castle. Found great cakeshop.
Lovely place. Unfortunately worst guide of the week.
Lots of walking through crowds
Guide lived there all his life. Plenty to learn then time to explore.
We were zoned out by the time we got to Budapest. Buda was lovely, wasn't keen on pest. Too many roadworks being do e.
