There was an outbreak of the virus on the preious panama canal cruise. we received an email from NCL3 days before but they never mentioned the virus. They instead said boarding would be delayed due to extensive immigration. this was not the reason at all. we arrived at the terminal, checked in, got our room keys and were told to leave the terminal as it would be several hours before we could board.. there were complimentary shuttle buses to Long Beach which they said would return every 25 minutes. When we tried to go back we were treated like criminal hostages and told we would be allowed to go back when they said so. When we got back there were approximately 3,000 passengers lined up outside the terminal. We were told even though we were checked in and had keys we would have to go to the back of the line and wait. When I asked why we couldnt board, as they were boarding at that time, the representative from NCL actually yelled at me and said because that is how it is. It turned out this rude moron didnt know there was a special line for us as we were already checked in and had keycards. People got sick on the ship. Many were quaratined to their room for 48 hours. My friends husband was sick and they quarantined her too, although she was fine. They informed her by embarassing her in front of a crowd full of people in front of the Local restaurant. you couldnt breathe in the elevators from all the disinfectant. They put all condiments on your food for you as well as opening your creamers and sugar. All this precaution, however the cash cow casino had none of this. machines werent cleaned. No one sprayed your hands when you entered or exited. It was so hypocritical it was laughable. . The shp should not have been allowed to sail. It was clearly infected and they knew it. I could go on forever but whats the point. The entertainment was fine. The show Footloose was excellent. The food was okay in the dining room, and fair in the buffet. I am a Platinum NCL customer, so I will not let this affect future cruising with NCL, however they should have canceled this particular cruise and took the time to decontaminate the ship.
