  3. Queen Mary 2 (QM2)
We are Platinum card members having been on all three queens several times. Our trips have always been good and so have the on board photographers. We did a mini cruise from Hamburg to Southampton with all the family for a seventieth and a fortieth birthday - so rather special. A rare treat to get the family all in one place. Smart attire evening photographs were so badly posed (not) that we rejected them. The Gala night photographs were out of focus - we were finally told this just before we debarked. We asked, during the evening, four times to see them and were told to return in 30 minutes. IF we had been told that they had gone in the bin earlier we would have had time to have them retaken. Now we have to drive 180 miles each way to meet up with the family to try and get more photographs done by a professional to recapture the special days. To add insult to injury, our complaints to Cunard have been ignored. No e mail no phone call - silence . Four weeks later having rung five times and finally a brief email today - our case is still being investigated and we still have got nowhere. Lovely cruises but total failure when it comes to after care of customers. It is out of Cunard’s control apparently. We await the photographer’s reply - 18 days and ... The menu was not quite as good as it used to be, one gets the feeling that there has been cost cutting . Our grandchildren were quite happy with their menu and amount. The waiters on this trip were not as good as the past, possibly because it was a short trip. The extra vegetables asked for arrived too late ...... As usual the entertainment was of a high standard though a bit loud for our grandson.

Cabin Review

Balcony, sheltered
Cabin BV
Steward was good in arranging cabins to suit our family needs by opening the balcony door so we could go from cabin to cabin.
The third fold out bed was extremely comfortable, but of course made moving around space limited when out.
Deck 6 Inside Cabins, Outside Cabins, Balcony Cabins

  • Hamburg
We had a few days in Hamburg before boarding QM2 . The Maritime Museum was interesting but not as child friendly as the one in Falmouth.
We were just about able to book a slot for the Miniature Wunderland . Book as soon as you can to save queues. We spent five hours there and were blown away by the fantastic models. Not just a model village . Not to be missed
